Terms of Use

These terms cover your use of the Gibbous app and the getgibbous.com website, made by Handler Labs LLC. By using Gibbous, you agree to them. Apple’s standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies to the app; where it and these terms overlap, both apply, and these terms add the specifics below.
Your licence
You get a personal, non-transferable licence to use Gibbous on devices you own or control, for your own use. Please do not copy, resell, reverse engineer, or misuse the app or the site.
Subscriptions and purchases
Gibbous is free to use for the moon phase, one widget, and the lunar calendar. Premium features are available as a subscription or a one-time purchase.
- Billing. Purchases are charged to your Apple Account through the App Store.
- Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends.
- Free trial. If a plan includes a free trial, you are charged when the trial ends unless you cancel before then. We show a reminder before that happens.
- Managing and cancelling. Manage or cancel anytime in the App Store, under your account’s subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store terms.
- Price changes. If a price changes, Apple will ask for your agreement before the change applies to your subscription, as required.
Astronomy accuracy
Gibbous computes moon phase, illumination, rise and set, distance, and eclipses from established astronomical algorithms, and aims to be accurate for everyday use. It is not intended for navigation, aviation, or any safety-critical purpose. Never look at a partial or annular solar eclipse without certified solar filters.
Astrology content
The moon-sign layer draws on folklore and tradition. It is provided for reflection and enjoyment, as entertainment, and is not fact, advice, or a prediction. Do not rely on it for medical, financial, legal, or other important decisions.
The website
The getgibbous.com website provides moon reference content and information about the app. We work to keep it accurate but provide it as is.
No warranty
Gibbous is provided as is, without warranties of any kind to the extent the law allows. We do not promise the app will be uninterrupted or error free.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Handler Labs LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of Gibbous. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you.
Changes
We may update these terms. If we do, we will change the date above and post the new version here. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the state in which Handler Labs LLC is organized, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and subject to any mandatory consumer protections in your own country or state.
